Hi Ian and Julia. Any tips on how to successfully pitch your guest blog? You can pitch a blog to a mag or website and, even though you think it’s a good subject, it may not be received as such and won’t be taken up. They get 100s of pitches every week, so how can you make yours stand out and be pitch perfect?

Great question, Jonathan. I think it depends on the industry. For me, I get dozens and dozens of pitches each week. I am sorry to say that most of these just get deleted – but that’s because almost all of them do it wrong. They just automate it or don’t bother to do their research. I think you need to pitch in a genuine and non-automated way. Do your research and make sure that the blog you are pitching to write for is a good fit. Mark Orr great question. I feel much more relaxed about guest vlogging than guest blogs. I wrote a blog for Andrew Pickering and Peter Gartland about my personal branding journey and it went through so many drafts. But I’m really glad I did it, it helped me find my voice and it’s fab for SEO. Also gave me social proof for my website.

On the publisher side, getting a quality guest post is much more difficult than it used to be.

I find sometimes with guest blogging its easier for imposter syndrome to kick in – too much time to think. But in 2019 I’;; continue with guest stints.

It’s bittersweet. Settling in is harder than I thought it would be. I miss the UK and EU so much. But – Boise is beautiful so I’m focused on being grateful for that 🙂

I have a question. How can I get guest bloggers for a specific niche?

Nicole Osborne

Could you use #journorequest on Twitter?

Nicole Osborne

I thing guest blogging is great for reaching new audiences and nurturing relationships. I find ‘guest pod casting’ easier. But for SEO you cant beat blogs, right?
